St Brendan’s Church 50th Anniversary

The Parish Pastoral Council is extending an invitation not only to the people of Coolock, but to all people of St Brendan’s Parish, and further afield to be part of our celebrations for the Golden Jubilee of St Brendan’s Church, Coolock.

Our new church was built and dedicated to St Brendan by Archbishop Dermot Ryan in July 1974. During the intervening 50 years, St Brendan’s Church has been at the heart of the life of the community. Significant family and parish occasions have been celebrated there. Families have gathered for baptisms, weddings, funerals, first communions and confirmations, Novenas and Triduums as well as for Sunday and daily Mass. Throughout the past 50 years, St Brendan’s Church has been a sacred place for families and individuals to gather in faith, to celebrate the sacraments, to spend some quiet time in prayer and reflection or to simply light a candle and to be still in the presence of the Lord.

The Jubilee Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Dermot Farrell of Sunday, July 14th at 11.30am. This will be followed by hospitality in the Parish Centre.

We want to encourage as many people as possible to be involved in this joyful occasion. If you would like to share some photographs please bring them to the parish office, we will keep them safe and return them to you later on. We hope to have displays in the Church and Parish Centre.
